Project Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Project Mechanical Engineer (ME‑III) will independently direct and technically manage engineering and design activities for complex mechanical and ocean‑deployed systems. Reporting to a Project Manager, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, track progress, and ensure technical adequacy of solutions, with a focus on maritime and subsea applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply advanced analytical and design methods to complex projects.
• Coordinate and supervise interdisciplinary design teams including engineers, designers, drafters, and technicians.
• Review progress, evaluate results, and manage projects of moderate scope.
• Estimate resources, create test procedures, conduct tests, and compile documentation.
• Interact with customers to define expectations and participate in technical working groups.
• Support bid and proposal efforts with cost estimates and technical approaches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering (5‑10 years of relevant experience).
• 2+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proven ability to produce significant portions of mechanical designs and lead technical groups.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
• Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
