Primary Care Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join its clinical team. The physician will deliver comprehensive outpatient care, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and follow‑up care as needed.
• Document all patient encounters promptly in the Electronic Health Record.
• Coordinate referrals and additional evaluations with specialists.
• Maintain accurate coding for all visits.
• Adhere to Ochsner’s policies, credentialing standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in a primary medical specialty.
• MD or DO with an active medical license.
• Credentialed and committed to ongoing clinical practice.
• Demonstrated professionalism and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of medical coding and documentation standards.
