Preschool Lead Teacher

About the role

The lead teacher ensures each child's safety and well‑being by addressing emotional, social, physical and educational needs, using developmentally appropriate practices, serving as a positive role model and providing customer‑focused service.

Key responsibilities

• Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities and play.
• Assist children with daily routines such as restroom use, diapering, and hand washing.
• Supervise children to ensure safety at all times.
• Communicate daily with parents about their child and maintain professional rapport.
• Maintain a clean, organized, clutter‑free classroom environment.
• Supervise and train teacher assistants, ensuring adherence to program policy and customer service standards.
• Plan daily activities, conduct child assessments, and facilitate parent‑teacher conferences.
• Prepare monthly newsletters, weekly lesson plans, and record daily activities (eating, sleeping, diaper changes).

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; enrollment in required ECE courses.
• CPR, First Aid, Health/Safety, Blood‑Borne Pathogen certifications and a recent TB test and physical.
• Mental and physical capability to care for a group of children alone.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and minimal absences.
• Alignment with Crossline Church’s Christ‑centered educational philosophy and statement of faith.
• Clear Live Scan and criminal background check.
