About the role
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a board‑eligible or board‑certified Psychiatrist to join its clinical team. This position remains open until filled and may include a recruitment and relocation incentive for highly qualified individuals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for veteran patients.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with best practice guidelines.
- Deliver individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records and comply with VA documentation standards.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship (or non‑citizen eligible when no qualified citizen is available).
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Completed residency training in psychiatry approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
- Eligibility for board certification in psychiatry.
