Manager, Risk Management (SOX Compliance)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Risk Management to lead its SOX compliance program within the Finance organization. The role will oversee internal controls, coordinate testing, and drive remediation across global operations, reporting to the VP of Accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the global SOX 404 program, including scoping, control testing, deficiency evaluation and remediation.
• Manage work plans, supervise testing activities, and review the work of internal and external resources.
• Assess design effectiveness of internal controls and collaborate with business owners to close gaps.
• Identify efficiencies and process improvements, partnering with finance teams such as Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax and Corporate Audit.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors and support audit engagements.
• Work with automation and analytics resources to enhance control testing and the overall control environment.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of US GAAP, PCAOB standards, SOX, COSO and IT audit concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical findings for business audiences.
• Proven project management abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines and accountability.
• High ethical standards and sound professional judgment.
