Maintenance Technician – Lease Up (Sonora)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician (Lease Up) – Sonora will ensure that the physical aspects of the property, including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas, meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This role focuses on responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including participation in routine safety meetings.
• Attention to detail in inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
• Capability to coordinate with vendors and contractors to schedule and complete maintenance tasks.
• Commitment to maintaining property standards for cleanliness, appearance, and functionality.
