About the role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join the Facilities team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The position is a full‑time, regular staff role focused on maintaining and improving the university’s physical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work including framing, installation, repair, and renovation of building interiors and exteriors.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
• Collaborate with maintenance and construction crews to complete projects on schedule.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in inventory management of materials and supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry preferred.
• Proven experience in commercial or institutional carpentry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid U.S. work authorization.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
