Maintenance Technician – Jackson Hill

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Jackson Hill community in Houston. The technician will ensure that apartments, common areas and grounds meet the company’s standards for safety, appearance and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies and completing all required maintenance tasks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and timely to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible and using materials efficiently.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or building defects and perform repairs safely.
• Experience with completing work orders and make‑ready procedures.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and inventory tracking.
• Willingness to follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.

• Use of standard maintenance tools and equipment (e.g., hand tools, pressure washer).
