Maintenance Technician – Automated Material Handling

About the role

The Maintenance Technician supports operations at Carbel, a leading logistics and distribution provider for the fashion and apparel industry. The role ensures continuous flow of product by maintaining automated material handling equipment in a high‑volume distribution centre.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, motors, and drives.
• Maintain automated labeling/print‑apply systems.
• Service Jolly machines and associated boiler/steam equipment.
• Diagnose sensor, photo‑eye, and communication faults.
• Perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment.
• Respond to equipment stoppages and restore production flow quickly.
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to identify failures.
• Replace components such as belts, rollers, bearings, motors, and pneumatic parts.
• Document repairs, parts usage, and downtime causes.
• Identify recurring failures and recommend reliability improvements.
• Follow lockout/tagout and all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Technical or technological degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial or specialized equipment maintenance (warehouse, production, or automated equipment preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
