Customer Site Service Manager

About the role

The Customer Site Service Manager (CSSM) will lead on‑site technical support for BASF coatings products at automotive assembly plants. The role ensures product performance, resolves application issues, and drives continuous improvement while building strong customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site technical and application oversight for BASF coatings in customer plants.
• Monitor product performance, manage color consistency, identify defects, and lead root‑cause analysis.
• Implement corrective actions and support new product introductions.
• Develop and maintain key customer relationships and act as the technical liaison for the sales team.
• Track key performance indicators, drive problem‑resolution initiatives, and report metrics.
• Supervise a team of six Field Technical Service Representatives.
• Travel domestically up to 15% and utilize telecommuting as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in OEM paint application within the automotive sector.
• Proven ability to manage on‑site technical teams and customer interactions.
