Maintenance Mechanic – Plant Equipment

About the role

CEMEX is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform a wide range of mechanical tasks across its plant facilities. The role supports both routine and emergency maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute maintenance assignments on plant equipment and facilities.
• Collect data for preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Perform millwright duties such as bearing replacement, equipment alignment, and power‑transmission repairs.
• Carry out welding and cutting tasks for equipment fabrication and repair.
• Inspect, lubricate, drain, and change oil and filters on all mechanical equipment.
• Install, maintain, and inspect piping systems (pipefitting).
• Operate mobile equipment to assist with maintenance activities.
• Inspect and repair plumbing on plant equipment and facilities.
• Adhere to CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA safety regulations at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior mechanical or welding experience; plant maintenance experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow complex written and oral instructions.
• Good basic math skills and ability to read technical English documents.
• Bilingual ability is a plus.

Required skills

• Welding and cutting.
