About the role
The Learning and Development Manager leads all training and development initiatives across the United States for Colas SA, ensuring that learning programs are strategically aligned with business goals and deliver measurable impact.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders and HR to align learning strategy with company objectives, workforce plans, and succession needs.
- Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate a wide range of learning programs, including technical, leadership, safety, sales, and train‑the‑trainer solutions.
- Conduct needs analyses, competency modeling, and stakeholder interviews to identify skill gaps and prioritize learning solutions.
- Establish and track KPIs that demonstrate training impact on performance, retention, productivity, and safety, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders.
- Optimize L&D processes, select appropriate delivery methods (classroom, virtual, blended, microlearning, simulations) and manage third‑party vendors.
- Oversee LMS and TMS administration, ensuring data integrity, course configuration, reporting, and compliance records.
- Design evaluation approaches (surveys, assessments, observations) and adjust programs to improve outcomes.
- Lead a small team of program managers/instructional designers, providing coaching and performance management.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Adult Education, Business or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience designing, delivering, and managing training programs, preferably in transportation, construction, or heavy civil industries.
- Proven experience administering and reporting from an LMS and/or TMS.
- Strong background in training needs analysis, competency modeling, and learning measurement.
