About the role

The Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II to provide social services that support the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders in custody or on probation. Under general supervision, you will develop rehabilitation plans, monitor compliance, and coordinate treatment services.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to assess progress and compliance with probation contracts.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing, including random screens, and verify participation in treatment programs.
• Prepare and maintain case files, write progress reports, and recommend remedial or court actions for non‑compliance.
• Conduct investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, perform curfew checks, and arrange medical, mental health, or substance‑abuse services as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field with two years of human‑services experience, or four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders.
• Or two years of experience at the lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist I (SSP130) or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain State of Georgia POST certification within six months of hire.
• Ability to meet agency physical‑agility standards and pass required assessments.
