Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II – Lanier CSO

About the role

Under general supervision, provides social services to assist in the rehabilitation of law offenders in custody or on probation. The specialist makes recommendations for rehabilitation plans, conditional release, and education and employment stipulations.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and compliance with probation contracts.
• Recommend remedial or court action for non‑compliance and administer drug/alcohol tests.
• Prepare and maintain case files, write progress reports, and investigate legal issues.
• Conduct pre‑hearing investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Arrange medical, mental health, or substance‑abuse treatment services as required.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, including electronic monitoring and curfew checks.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field and two years of experience in a social services delivery setting, or four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders.
• Or two years of experience at the lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist I (SSP130/PSP240) or equivalent.
• Ability to meet agency physical agility standards and pass required assessments.
