Junior Software Developer

About the role

CGI is looking for an enthusiastic junior software developer to join a high‑performing Agile team building modern, services‑based web applications for a large government agency. You will work with a contemporary development stack, contribute to cloud‑ready solutions, and grow your technical and leadership skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and code components of an emerging application using best practices.
• Participate in all Agile lifecycle phases: design, estimation, coding, code reviews, and testing.
• Develop web application features in Angular, Java, and JavaScript, leveraging AI‑paired programming techniques.
• Deploy applications to Kubernetes and work with Docker containers.
• Use the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Data) to build robust back‑end services.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs and work with JSON/YAML data structures.
• Collaborate daily with the team, clients, and end‑users to provide technical input and accurate estimates.
• Write automated test scripts and contribute to continuous improvement of tools and architecture.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java (both front‑end and back‑end).
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Positive, can‑do attitude with a desire to learn and share knowledge.
