Junior Systems Administrator

About the role

Join a collaborative Agile team supporting mission‑critical supervisory systems for a federal agency. As a Junior Systems Administrator you will own server administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, automation and security while working alongside experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor and maintain Windows Server environments and related infrastructure.
• Lead system configuration, patching and upgrades to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Use enterprise tools (SolarWinds, AppDynamics, ThousandEye) to monitor health, performance and availability.
• Respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and escalate when needed.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls in Active Directory and IAM solutions.
• Support backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery planning and execution.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell or Bash scripting.
• Document configurations, changes and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with IT, security and development teams to support deployments and ensure secure operations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3‑5 years of systems administration or IT operations experience in enterprise environments.
• Eligibility for a federal background investigation and US citizenship.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
