Junior Legal Counsel – Commercial

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Legal Counsel – Commercial to join our U.S. legal team. This fully remote position offers the chance to work on technology contracts, licensing, and open‑source matters while supporting commercial growth across the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and technology agreements.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, obligations, and best practices related to commercial operations.
• Support sales and procurement teams in structuring deals and resolving contract‑related issues.
• Provide practical, business‑focused legal guidance for strategic initiatives.
• Assist with open‑source software compliance and licensing matters.
• Improve contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes.
• Collaborate with product, finance, engineering, and compliance teams.
• Help manage disputes or pre‑litigation matters arising from commercial relationships.
• Stay current on regulatory and legal developments affecting technology and software businesses.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active bar membership in a U.S. state (preferably Eastern or Central time zones).
• 2–5 years post‑bar experience in commercial transactions, technology law, or corporate contracts.
• Familiarity with intellectual property, data protection, and cybersecurity issues in technology transactions.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
• Basic understanding of open‑source licensing principles or willingness to develop expertise.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Self‑starter who thrives in a remote, fast‑moving environment.
