IT Technician

About the role

Gastro Health is looking for a full‑time IT Technician to provide technical support and keep the clinical IT environment running smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for hardware, software and network issues, ensuring staff can focus on delivering quality healthcare.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems and approved software.
• Diagnose user problems, test solutions and document resolutions in the help‑desk system.
• Maintain workstation hardware and peripherals, including network cards, printers, modems, KVM switches, disk drives, audio cards, memory and motherboards.
• Create and manage user profiles, directories and security settings, including anti‑virus protection.
• Perform system maintenance according to vendor standards and lift equipment up to 10 lb.
• Assist the IT team with projects and close assigned tickets promptly.

Required profile

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1‑2 years of experience as an IT technician.
• A+ certification.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical staff.

Required skills

• PC and server hardware configuration and troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Server environments, Microsoft Exchange, Windows operating systems.
• SQL database basics.
• Linux operating system.
• Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and/or VNC.
• Cisco PIX, SSH protocol.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Help‑desk software usage.
• Anti‑virus and network security fundamentals.
