About the role

The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join its Facilities team. This position focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems across campus buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose system issues, troubleshoot faults, and replace or repair components as needed.
• Install new HVAC units and retrofit existing systems to improve efficiency.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and university standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete required documentation.
• Collaborate with other facilities staff to coordinate projects and minimize downtime.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant HVAC certification preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
