Skilled Trades Helper – Zone B

About the role

The Skilled Trades Helper – Zone B supports the Facilities Management and Services team at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. This regular, full‑time position assists skilled trades personnel in maintaining campus buildings and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with routine maintenance, repairs, and installations across campus facilities.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites and ensure proper storage.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and instructions.
• Perform basic manual labor such as lifting, carrying, and assembling components.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors as needed.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read simple work orders and diagrams.
