Hospital Medicine Physician – San Luis Obispo

About the role

Vituity is seeking board‑eligible or board‑certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians to join the Hospital Medicine team at French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo, CA. The position focuses on delivering high‑quality inpatient care in a collaborative, community‑hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 6‑9 daily admissions and 5‑7 night admissions, providing comprehensive inpatient care.
• Collaborate with the emergency department team during codes and acute events.
• Work alongside 24/7 in‑house intensivists, utilizing on‑site labs and imaging.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Maintain documentation and communication through the hospital’s electronic medical record system.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician.
• Previous inpatient or hospitalist experience.
• Current California medical license preferred, but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inpatient electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to manage acute medical situations and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
