General Operator

About the role

We are seeking a General Operator to run, maintain, and set up slide forming machines and punch presses that fabricate metal stampings. The role involves ensuring machine performance, quality control, and proper documentation within a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and changeover slide forming machines or punch presses, including pre‑setup, tooling removal, and cleaning.
• Monitor machine performance, lubricate equipment, and manage oil collection and disposal.
• Read blueprints and Operator Instruction Sheets to verify product quality and record dimensional checks.
• Enter production data into the SPC system and process transactions in the Plex ERP system.
• Troubleshoot job issues, collaborate with die maintenance, and support corrective‑action and 8‑D responses.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience operating industrial machinery or related training.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, safety‑first mindset, and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Plex ERP system.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) software.
• Ability to measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and job‑specific gauges.
• Basic mathematics for dimensional verification.
