Forward Deployed Agent Engineer

About the role

Cogent Security is building the next generation of AI agents for cybersecurity. As a Forward Deployed Agent Engineer you will work directly with Fortune 500 customers to design, implement, and operate AI‑driven security agents that protect complex production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy security‑focused AI agents that reason over large datasets and interact with security systems.
• Own end‑to‑end implementations for new and existing customers, from data ingestion to production deployment.
• Experiment with, evaluate, and integrate the latest text, voice, and multi‑modal models at scale.
• Adapt agents to diverse customer environments, integrating with their tools, processes, and data sources.
• Identify cross‑customer trends and translate field insights into platform improvements.
• Debug deep‑stack issues, investigate edge cases, and ensure enterprise‑grade reliability and performance.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in high‑velocity or customer‑facing settings.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript with strong asynchronous programming skills.
• Strong debugging and systems‑thinking abilities, able to trace issues across multiple layers.
• Clear communication skills for translating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity, ownership of end‑to‑end delivery, and focus on customer outcomes.
