Family Law Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to help launch our new Lafayette office in early 2027. The role will support attorneys throughout all phases of family law litigation, ensuring smooth case management as the firm expands.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support for family law matters, including case preparation, pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
• Prepare and organize legal documents, exhibits, and case files.
• Conduct legal research and draft correspondence and legal documents.
• Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Assist attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Manage case calendars, deadlines, and court filings.
• Maintain accurate and organized case records.
• Offer additional litigation and administrative support as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience, primarily in family law litigation.
• Proven ability to support attorneys through litigation, hearings, and trials.
• Strong knowledge of family law procedures and court processes.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of working independently.

Required skills

• Case management software proficiency.
