Entry-Level Systems Administrator – IT Support

About the role

The University of California State Fresno is seeking an entry‑level Systems Administrator to provide technical support for its campus‑wide IT infrastructure. This full‑time, probationary position works under the Associate Vice President for Information Security and Infrastructure Services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and maintain operating systems and server platforms in both on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Monitor system health, backup processes, and routine alerts, escalating issues when necessary.
• Support account and access administration for university users.
• Maintain accurate system documentation and configuration records.
• Assist with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and daily operational support.

Required profile

• General knowledge of operating systems, servers, and infrastructure concepts.
• Ability to perform routine installation, configuration, maintenance, and patching tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative work style.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
