Emergency Nurse

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Nurse to join our team at AdventHealth in Orlando. In this full‑time position you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting to the emergency department, supporting their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate patients' physical, mental, and emotional health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care by facilitating collaboration among physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
• Monitor patient progress, regularly review and adjust care plans according to outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure informed and involved care.
• Document patient information accurately, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, adhering to protocols and patient‑safety standards.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.
• Supervise nursing and support staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and evaluating performance.
• Evaluate discharge planning needs and coordinate smooth transitions to home or other facilities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Address issues related to patient care, staffing, and resource allocation, implementing process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Demonstrated proficiency in acute‑care nursing.
• Ability to use high‑level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise care plans.
• Basic computer skills; ability to navigate Microsoft Windows‑based programs.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
