About the role
The ECMO Program Coordinator supports the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) service at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The role ensures smooth operation of the program, facilitates patient care coordination, and collaborates with clinical teams.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities of the ECMO program, including scheduling, equipment management, and documentation.
- Serve as liaison between physicians, nurses, perfusionists, and patients/families to ensure clear communication.
- Maintain program databases, track outcomes, and prepare reports for quality improvement.
- Assist with training and orientation of staff and students involved in ECMO care.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a health‑care related field.
- Experience in a clinical or program coordination role, preferably within cardiac or critical care services.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of ECMO technology and clinical workflows.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems and data management tools.
