Director of Enterprise Applications (IT)

About the role

The Director of Enterprise Applications provides operational and technical leadership for planning, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving Prairie View A&M University’s enterprise application portfolio. Reporting to the CIO, the role translates institutional priorities into application strategies, service standards, and implementation activities aligned with the university’s strategic framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise application roadmap, including governance for change, release, and access management.
• Manage daily operations, maintenance, patching, and upgrades of the Ellucian Banner ERP suite and related integrations.
• Oversee business intelligence and analytics platforms, ensuring data quality, compliance, and alignment with institutional data standards.
• Coordinate application security, compliance (FERPA, GLBA, ADA WCAG 2.1), and disaster recovery planning.
• Lead the enterprise application project portfolio, serving as project manager or technical lead for major upgrades and digital process improvements.
• Manage vendor and managed‑service‑provider relationships, monitoring SLAs, contract deliverables, and performance.
• Supervise and develop application services staff, establishing priorities, performance expectations, and continuity plans.
