Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Diesel Mechanic at its Piedmont, SC Service Center. The role involves day‑to‑day maintenance of the company’s fleet, including preventative work and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers and occasionally forklifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
• Execute major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, lift gates, dollies and overhead doors.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies and perform welding as required.
• Use the Cetaris system to manage work orders and documentation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience (preferred).
• Experience with preventive maintenance of Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Knowledge of AC and electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and possess personal tools.
