Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time, 2nd/3rd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a full‑time Diesel Mechanic for its South Windsor, CT service center. The position works the 2nd and 3rd shifts, Monday‑Friday, and offers an hourly rate of $28.25‑$37.25. You will keep the company’s fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers and related equipment running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers and forklifts.
• Maintain and service trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies and perform welding as required.
• Diagnose and repair air‑conditioning and electrical systems on fleet vehicles.
• Use Cetaris software to document work orders and track maintenance schedules.

Required profile

• Experience with preventive maintenance and major repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lb and work safely in a shop environment.
• Own set of mechanic tools.
• 2 + years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
