Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift (2pm‑12:30am)

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for its New Carlisle, IN service center. This full‑time, 2nd‑shift position (2 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.) offers competitive hourly pay, PTO after 90 days, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.
• Use the Cetaris system to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
• Ability to handle major repairs, work with AC and electrical systems, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Must provide own tools and have a valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance on diesel engines.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Proficiency with AC and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Cetaris work‑order software.
• Trailer preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of LPMECH (preferred).
