Diesel Mechanic – Full‑Time 2nd Shift

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its New Carlisle, IN Service Center on the 2nd shift (2 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.). You will perform day‑to‑day maintenance and repairs on a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance on diesel engines, Cummins and Detroit models.
• Perform minor to major repairs on trucks, trailers, lift gates, dollies, and forklifts.
• Maintain ancillary equipment such as overhead doors and welding tools as needed.
• Use the Cetaris system to create and close work orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and lift up to 50 lb when required.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, preferably with Class 8 trucks.
• Hands‑on ability to handle major engine repairs, AC, and electrical systems.
• Must own personal tools and be able to lift 50 lb.
• Willingness to work the 2nd‑shift schedule.
