Developer Relations Engineer

About the role

This is the founding US hire for an open‑source MLOps and AI agent infrastructure company. Reporting directly to leadership, you will own the San Francisco presence and operate at the intersection of community building, technical evangelism, and growth‑oriented go‑to‑market.

Key responsibilities

• Launch and grow a recurring SF meetup from scratch into a must‑attend event for the ML infrastructure community.
• Represent the company credibly at AI infrastructure meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Valley.
• Build relationships across the SF AI/ML ecosystem, turning conversations into lasting partnerships.
• Create and distribute technical content such as talks, blog posts, social posts, and demo videos based on community observations.
• Demo a Python framework live, answer technical questions, and engage engineering audiences without relying on slides.
• Instrument community and product signals (Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, enrichment platforms) into automated workflows to trace leads.

Required profile

• 2+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer‑facing GTM, preferably at an early‑stage or resource‑constrained company.
• Proven ability to design and run recurring community events with documented attendance growth.
• Track record of converting community or product activity into leads, partnerships, or measurable business outcomes.
• Existing network within the SF AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps community and a visible personal or professional brand.
• Self‑directed, comfortable operating solo with minimal oversight.

Required skills

• Python (ability to demo frameworks, read production code, work with APIs).
• GitHub (experience with open‑source community dynamics and contributor engagement).
• APIs (integration and troubleshooting in front of engineering audiences).

What we offer

• Salary range: $160,000 – $220,000 USD annually.
• On‑site role in San Francisco with no remote option.
