Data Analyst – Contract to Hire (Hybrid, Charlotte, NC)

About the role

BASF is seeking a Data Analyst on a contract‑to‑hire basis to support its Product Development Assistant (PDA) tool. The position is hybrid, based in Charlotte, NC, and blends data analysis with front‑end and back‑end development to enhance the PDA platform used by scientists.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front‑end features of the PDA tool using React and TypeScript.
• Implement back‑end services and APIs with FastAPI.
• Perform site reliability checks, health monitoring, and dashboard management to ensure high‑fidelity performance.
• Onboard new users, provide ongoing support, and incorporate user feedback.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that feed high‑quality data into the PDA (Foundry).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience with front‑end application development, particularly React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Python programming and data transformation workflows.
• Familiarity with databases and data analysis software.
• Preferred experience with FastAPI, Databricks, LIMS, and MLOps.
• Background in soft‑matter physics or emulsion polymerization technology is a plus.
