Customer Site Service Manager (OEM Automotive Coatings)

About the role

The Customer Site Service Manager (CSSM) will be the on‑site technical expert for BASF’s automotive coating products at a Ford assembly plant. You will ensure product performance, support new applications, and act as the primary liaison between BASF and the customer.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily operation of BASF coating products in the automotive assembly plant.
• Provide on‑site technical and application expertise, including color management, defect identification and corrective actions.
• Ensure product performance meets or exceeds customer specifications and business objectives.
• Respond to customer requirements, enforce quality/performance specifications, and assist in new product/application development.
• Collaborate with BASF sales and technical teams to deliver value‑added technical support and problem resolution.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, managing existing accounts and identifying new opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma (or GED) with equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in the automotive coatings industry (preferred).
• Extensive background in paint applications and manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to work on‑site and provide technical expertise to customers.
