About the role
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) in Texas seeks a Criminal Intelligence Analyst to support complex criminal intelligence research and analysis. The analyst will help maintain a web‑based system for gang identification, develop juvenile crime prevention initiatives, and provide analytical support for prosecutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a dedicated website for criminal and juvenile justice personnel on gang identification.
- Organize, edit, and format gang‑related information and photographs to meet statutory requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate criminal and gang intelligence for website content and training materials.
- Assist with state grant compliance monitoring and related administrative duties.
- Plan and facilitate regional gang task‑force trainings, intelligence‑sharing meetings, and public seminars.
- Design training curricula and market programs to target audiences.
- Serve as liaison with internal and external stakeholders to share intelligence data and resources.
- Enter intelligence data into databases for use by analysts and investigators.
- Conduct analytical research, evaluate source reliability, develop investigative leads, and identify patterns and trends using probability studies.
Required profile
- Experience in criminal or juvenile justice intelligence work.
- Ability to manage and curate web‑based content and databases.
- Strong research, analytical, and report‑writing skills.
- Experience planning and delivering training or public‑facing seminars.
- Effective communication and liaison abilities with diverse stakeholder groups.
