Counter Sales Specialist – Hydraulic & Industrial Hose

About the role

Stuart Hose & Pipe, a SunSource company, is seeking a hands‑on Counter Sales Specialist to serve walk‑in and call‑in customers in Fort Worth. You will act as the face of the branch, guiding contractors and technicians to the right hydraulic and industrial hose solutions while fabricating custom assemblies.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, take orders, clarify application needs, and recommend appropriate hoses, fittings, and accessories.
• Build, crimp, cut, and test hose assemblies to specifications and industry standards.
• Measure and identify thread types, flange patterns, hose specifications, and pressure ratings on customer‑provided samples.
• Enter tickets, quotes, and transfers in the ERP system, verify stock, and manage lead times.
• Support warehouse tasks such as restocking bins, cycle counts, receiving transfers, and maintaining a clean work area.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with hydraulic and industrial hose assembly, crimping, and fitting identification.
• Strong knowledge of thread types (NPT, JIC, ORFS, metric, BSPP), hose construction, and pressure ratings.
• Ability to read calipers, thread‑pitch gauges, tape measures, and crimp spec charts accurately.
• Comfortable learning and navigating point‑of‑sale/ERP software for order entry and inventory look‑ups.
• Physical ability to stand all day, lift up to 50 lb, and operate shop fabrication machinery safely.
