Controller – Path to VP Finance/CFO (150‑175k + bonus)

About the role

The Controller will lead the accounting function at a fast‑growing company in Dallas, Texas. Reporting to senior leadership, this position offers a clear path toward a VP‑Finance or CFO role and includes a competitive salary and bonus package.

Key responsibilities

• Direct the month‑end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Develop, maintain and enforce financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Support budgeting, financial planning and cash‑flow management.
• Manage banking relationships, compliance reporting and tax filing coordination.
• Coordinate audit activities and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Build and maintain a job‑costing framework to provide visibility into project profitability.
• Lead financial integration for mergers and acquisitions, aligning accounting policies and consolidating systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
• CPA, CMA or equivalent professional certification.
• 5+ years of experience in financial management or senior accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proven leadership ability and experience managing accounting teams.
