Controller – Finance & Accounting

About the role

The family office is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations across a diversified portfolio that includes ranch operations, real estate, investment vehicles, and an aviation company. You will manage month‑end close, prepare financial statements, and support cash management while supervising a bookkeeper and collaborating with internal staff and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple entities.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Support accounting for real estate, investment activity, and aviation operations.
• Coordinate with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
• Maintain organized financial records and strengthen internal controls.
• Supervise and mentor one bookkeeper.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Experience in tax accounting.
