Construction Superintendent – West Coast Military Projects

About the role

RQ Construction, a leading design‑build firm, is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead military and commercial projects across San Diego County. Based out of our Carlsbad office, you will oversee daily field operations on assigned sites.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise subcontractors, field personnel and coordinate scheduling.
• Ensure safety compliance, quality control and adherence to contract documents, plans and specifications.
• Manage site coordination to deliver projects on time, within budget and to client requirements.
• Maintain company standards, mission, vision and values on each jobsite.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; additional construction‑management education preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Superintendent on mid‑size commercial or government projects.
• At least 4 years hands‑on field or trade experience.
• Prior experience with military, Design‑Build or large‑scale commercial construction strongly preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30, EM‑385 and STS certifications (training can be provided).

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Experience using Primavera P3/P6, Viewpoint, BIM and Revit (preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish (a plus).
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP (preferred).
