Construction Project Management Director

About the role

AECOM Tishman is seeking an experienced Construction Project Management Director to lead the delivery of a ground‑up hospitality venue in New York. The role oversees the full project lifecycle from pre‑construction through commissioning, opening, and handover, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define program strategy, governance, KPIs and reporting cadence.
• Build and mentor an integrated team covering owner representation, design, construction, commissioning and operations.
• Collaborate with design management from concept to IFC, ensuring constructability and value engineering.
• Lead procurement for major packages (interiors, MEP, façade, FF&E/OSE, IT/AV/Security), including pre‑qualification and contract negotiations.
• Manage schedule, cost plan, cash flow, contingencies and change control.
• Maintain a risk register and mitigate long‑lead items such as generators, chillers and elevators.
• Ensure compliance with life‑safety codes (NFPA 101/13/92) and oversee critical security and utility systems.
• Coordinate stakeholders, provide executive reporting and manage community/media interfaces.
• Lead commissioning, training, SOP development, mock openings and efficient project close‑out.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience delivering complex, multi‑venue construction projects.
• Strong ability to align owners, lenders, operators, designers and contractors.
• Expertise in risk management, budgeting and schedule control for large‑scale builds.
• Experience with regulatory approvals and stakeholder communication at executive level.
