Combat System Technician

About the role

The Combat System Technician is responsible for repairing, testing, and analyzing failures of AN/SQQ-89(V) sonar equipment used by the Navy. As a subject‑matter expert, you will support Fleet Concentration Areas and ensure the SQQ‑89 system remains mission‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repair, failure analysis, and corrective actions on AN/SQQ-89(V) and AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 sonar hardware.
• Conduct testing, restoration, and integrity verification of sonar components.
• Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair electronic and mechanical parts.
• Provide on‑site technical training and advice to customer support personnel.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve hardware and software interconnectivity issues.
• Support SQQ‑89 events such as CSAT, PICO/INCO, and act as team or task leader when required.

Required profile

• Active Secret security clearance (US citizenship required).
• Valid passport.
• Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience with naval sonar systems or comparable combat‑system equipment.
