About the role

The Division of Academic Affairs at Tarleton State University seeks a senior leader to serve as Associate Provost, Associate Vice President for Strategic Academic Initiatives, and Dean of Faculty. Reporting to the Provost, this position guides university‑wide academic strategies, faculty affairs, and program planning across multiple campuses and the online community.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with deans to develop and implement strategic academic program plans aligned with institutional goals.
• Provide oversight of faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and promotion processes.
• Lead large‑scale academic initiatives that enhance teaching, research, and service outcomes.
• Coordinate cross‑campus academic policies and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
• Advise senior leadership on academic priorities, resource allocation, and change management.

Required profile

• Doctorate or terminal degree in an academic discipline.
• Extensive experience in higher‑education administration, preferably at the dean or provost level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative, interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Strong record of fostering inclusive academic environments.
