Associate Director, Insurance & Risk Management

About the role

3M is seeking an Associate Director to lead its global insurance and risk management strategy. This senior position partners with business units worldwide to ensure insurance programs align with corporate objectives and risk frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and align the organization’s global insurance and risk management strategy with business goals.
• Design, implement, and manage international insurance programs, including claims handling and captive insurance utilization.
• Own significant insurance programs, develop renewal strategies, and ensure program structures meet budget and purpose.
• Conduct contract reviews and provide risk and insurance guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor the Senior Analyst, Insurance & Risk Management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• At least ten years of experience in corporate insurance, risk management, or related fields with international exposure.
• Strong knowledge of global insurance markets, multinational program structures, and international regulatory environments.
• Experience managing complex, multi‑jurisdictional claims.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, CRM are a plus.
