Controller – Financial Reporting for NYC Hotels

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead financial reporting and accounting for our New York City hotel portfolio. The role combines oversight of daily financial operations with strategic analysis to support efficient hotel management.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise all financial activities of the hotels, safeguarding assets and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support finance associates.
- Analyze operational financial data and advise hotel management.
- Monitor and approve sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses.
- Prepare, review, and present monthly operational reports.
- Develop forecasts and budgets (annual, revised, monthly) as required.
- Ensure payroll practices meet Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
- Oversee contracts, legal agreements, licenses, permits, insurance, and related documentation.
- Establish and audit internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, inventories, equipment, master keys, and time records.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 to 10 years of accounting experience within the hospitality industry.
