About the role
The Associate Director for Employer Relations leads the Cawley Career Education Center in advancing internship and full‑time employment opportunities for undergraduate, graduate students, and alumni. This senior position bridges Georgetown’s liberal‑arts education with professional pathways by cultivating employer partnerships and guiding career‑service programs.
Key responsibilities
- Implement the center’s mission across internship, full‑time employment, employer relations, student advising, and recruiting education.
- Supervise and mentor staff focused on industry advising, employer outreach, on‑campus recruiting, and student services.
- Provide primary oversight for the Industry Advising Team, especially for Arts, Media, and Communication sectors.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Operations to coordinate employer‑related activities managed by the Recruiting & Leadership Programs manager.
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruiters to secure full‑time and internship opportunities that align with student needs.
- Partner with faculty, alumni, and other university constituents to strengthen the link between academic programs and professional goals.
Required profile
- Proven experience in career services, employer relations, or related fields within higher education.
- Demonstrated supervisory and team‑leadership abilities.
- Strong understanding of the Arts, Media, and Communication industries.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to engage employers, faculty, and alumni.
