About the role

Meijer is seeking an Assistant Store Director to help lead its Normal, IL location. You will work closely with the Store Director to drive operational excellence, develop talent, and deliver an outstanding shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direction for daily store operations across food and general merchandise.
• Plan, direct, and supervise team members, handling selection, training, development, and performance management.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve customer service, increase sales, and boost profitability.
• Ensure effective merchandising, planograms, seasonal resets, and end‑cap displays.
• Forecast staffing needs, create recruiting strategies, and maintain optimal staffing levels.
• Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently.
• Assess financial results and implement business strategies to meet profit targets.
