Z100 Board Operator - Part-Time

About the role

iHeartMedia, the largest audio company in America, is hiring a part-time Board Operator for its Z100 station in New York. The Board Operator keeps broadcasts running smoothly and sounding great, ensuring every show, ad and moment reaches the audience clearly. The position is regular and part-time, with flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the broadcast console and studio equipment during live and pre-recorded shows.
• Monitor on-air programming for quality, timing and compliance with FCC regulations.
• Coordinate with talent, producers and traffic teams for smooth transitions and accurate commercial placement.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in real time and escalate as needed.
• Record, edit and load audio content for playback using automation systems.
• Maintain logs and documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Support remote broadcasts and live events as needed.

Required profile

• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or coursework a plus.
• Board operation and FCC compliance experience.
• Open communication with colleagues and direct reports, strong problem-solving skills, efficiency with independent work and commitment to process improvement.

Required skills

• Familiarity with broadcast equipment and automation systems (e.g., NexGen, Adobe Audition).
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
