Youth Tennis Coach - Fall 2026

About the role

ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars) is looking for passionate, committed part-time Youth Tennis Coaches in Walnut Creek for the Fall 2026 season. Coaches lead or assist a weekly after-school tennis program at one or more of the ANTS partner elementary schools in the area. The season runs September to December 2026 and requires availability for the full season. No previous coaching experience is required, as all coaches receive training.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a fun and safe weekly tennis practice for children aged 5-10
• Teach the fundamentals of tennis through a cohesive, game-filled lesson plan (training provided)
• Attend an in-person orientation training
• Arrive on time each week for the entire season and keep accurate attendance
• Interact positively with parents, teachers and school staff
• Set up before and clean up after each program
• Transport sports equipment to and from class each week

Required profile

• Available to coach in Walnut Creek on Mondays and Thursdays, 2:15-3:35pm, for the full 10-14 week season
• Reliable transportation to the coaching sites; a vehicle is very helpful because equipment must be brought to and from class
• Strong communication skills, patience with young children, and a positive attitude toward sportsmanship, wellness and positivity
• Experience as a player or coach (at least two years) is highly valued but optional
• Must pass a federal and state background check and/or FBI fingerprinting and test negative for tuberculosis within the last four years

• Pay of $30-35 per hour
