Yard Driver & Forklift Operator

About the role

McLane Global is seeking a Yard Driver and Forklift Operator to manage trailer and container movements across its Houston facilities, ensuring efficient yard operations and safe material handling.

Key responsibilities

• Stage containers in doors throughout the day.
• Move trailers between locations as needed.
• Provide up‑to‑date information on all containers and trailers in the yard at designated times.
• Direct inbound/outbound drivers to appropriate parking spots while they wait for a door.
• Operate a forklift to transport pallets from the warehouse dock onto trailers or containers, confirming moves with an RF scanner.
• Perform loader, unloader, full pallet pick, case pick, putaway, and other warehouse functions.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and detect warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of CDL driving experience.
• Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work with specialized mechanical and basic hand tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Capability to perform basic mathematical computations.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
